Ballon dOr All Winners 2023 List

Today, we will be listing all the winners at the 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony.

In the most anticipated award of the night, the Men’s Ballon d’Or was given to Lionel Messi. The Argentine legend won his record eighth Ballon d’Or in 2023. Despite having an okay domestic season, him pulling Argentina to the victory in the 2022 FIFA World Cup is what pushed him to the top of the list of the best player in the world. He pipped Manchester City and Norway str-striker Erling Haalan, and PSG and France superstar Kylian Mbappe.

 

The Women’s Ballon d’Or was won by Aitana Bonmati. The Spanish and Barcelona Femeni midfielder won the WOmen’s Spanish top premier division league, Liga F, as well as the UEFA Women’s Champions League with Barca. She also won the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup with Spain.

The Kopa Trophy for the best under-21 player in the world was won by Jude Bellingham. A absolute baller for Borussia DOrtmund in the last season, the Englishman has become world football’s next superstar after his move to Real Madrid. The podium here was rounded up by Bayern Munich and Germany’s Jamal Musiala, and Spanish Barcelona midfielder Pedri.

 

The Yashin Award, named after legendary Russia goalkeeper Lev Yashin, is given to the best goalkeeper in a given season. This was awarded to Aston Villa and Argentina keeper Emiliano Martinez, who’s brilliant performance was a major reason behind Argentina’s World Cup win. He was followed by treble-winner with Manchester City Ederson, and Morocco’s goalkeeper Yassine Bonnou.

 

Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. was awarded the Socrates Trophy. Named after the Brazilian legend, it is presented in recognition of the humanitarian work done by a player on and off the pitch. Vini started an organisation to build schools in impoverished areas in his homeland of Brazil. He also vehemently spoke up against racism by La Liga audiences.

The Gerd Muller Trophy, presented to the highest goalscorer in a season in world football, was unsurprisingly awarded to Erling Haaland, who scored 56 goals for club and country on the way to winning a treble with Manchester City.

And lastly, Manchester City was named the Club of the Year for winning the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League. Barcelona Femeni was named the Women’s Club Of The Year for winning Liga F and the Women’s Champions League.
