In an enormous amount of MMORPGs where grinding may be the name of the game, the entire concept of the "hidden quest" doesn't create a lot of sense. It's hard to locate in the first place which defeats the objective of streamlining the leveling process, isn't exactly XP rich, why bother searching for them, let alone completing them?

Back in the day, when World of Warcraft was initially released, there have been more secret quests hidden throughout Azeroth. These are the types of quests that are only available in isolated locations, found when choosing certain items, or only appear under special circumstances.

3 The Essence Of Eranikus

One from the infamous unfinished quests of Classic WoW, this chain appears to get another piece added with every expansion. The quest is only accessible if the ball player has acquired an item known as the Chained Essence of Eranikus when they were going through the nearby Sunken Temple.

The item comes with an interesting history. It's attached to the Green Dragonflight and also the Emerald Dream, along with a fan theory that says this hidden quest was a part of old plans to have an Emerald Dream raid which were never finished. If the ball player has it, they are able to take it to some mysterious elf named Itharius, who's hidden inside a cave within the southwestern corner of the Swamp of Sorrows. He tells a fascinating story about Ysera before sending the ball player to another NPC in Wintersrping.

The quest ends in that northern zone but on a cliffhanger with Umbranse the Spirit-Seeker, an auger using the talent of talking with the dead. However, the tool he uses to spirit-seek went missing, and he has nothing more to express on the matter.

2Cortello's Riddle

It somewhat scrolls, sitting around the deck of the ship, it may be anything, why even make use of it, assuming the ball player even notices it? However, curious gamers will click this scroll and discover it starts a quest called Cortello's Riddle which sends these phones to various locations throughout Azeroth looking for treasure.

1Message In A Bottle

There are all types of things that a beachcomber will find along the shore, and when a player keeps their eyes peeled, they'll visit a bottle submerged in the sand. In fact, they'll see several, and never all of them start this quest. Some of them just contain sad stories of thieves, pirates, and slaves that met their final, unhappy result in Stranglethorn Vale.

There's one bottle, however, which has a note from the lost princess that starts a quest called Message In A Bottle. Her name is Poobah, and she's being held captive by a giant gorilla named King Mukla. Slay him, free her, and obtain some decent mail bracers having a generous Stamina buff as a reward. And if anyone thinks about the problem that this is really a King Kong reference, they're probably right.
